Join Us for Our Careers in Code Capstone Project Presentations & Graduation Ceremony
Can you believe we’re nearing the end of Careers in Code’s inaugural run? The coding bootcamp is finishing up next month, and our students can’t wait to share the projects they’ve been working on throughout the course. Join us on August 22 to see their capstone project presentations and graduation ceremony at The Tech Garden!
Careers in Code is a coding bootcamp that teaches computer programming to women and minorities to help fight poverty in Central NY. We provide students with the technical skills they need to obtain internships and entry-level software development jobs with local employers after 24 weeks of instruction.
The capstone project is a personal endeavor by each student to showcase their skills by building a full-stack application of their choice which they have been working on over the past 24 weeks. Students will show off their projects, explain the difficult problems and challenges they addressed, and celebrate the new skills they have learned. You can see the first two updates here and here.
Immediately following the capstone project presentations, we’ll hold our graduation ceremony where each student will receive a course diploma.
Our tentative graduation schedule is as follows:
[5:30pm — 5:45pm] Welcome, Opening Remarks
[5:45pm — 6:45pm] Capstone Project Presentations
[6:45pm — 7:00pm] Graduation Ceremony
[7:00pm — 8:00pm] Networking & Mingling
Pizza and drinks will be served!
We’re so proud of our first cohort of students. We can’t wait to see them graduate and take the next step in their software development careers.
We hope to see you there!
